I teach pickleball because for me it was truly love at first sight. Now, I get to share that excitement and passion with people of all ages and walks of life. There's nothing better than seeing a student improve a part of their game and excitedly hearing them talk about it! It's the best!
The community! I first witnessed "live" pickleball while visiting my wife's grandparents down in Florida. Seeing folks of all ages laughing, having fun and being competitive while getting some exercise in, it was a game changer for me. Knew instantly I had to play and that this sport would always be with me. I've met more friends in two years of pickleball than my entire life outside of pickleball!
I first started playing pickleball about a year and a half ago. Having played ice hockey competitively since I was young, adapting some of those skills to pickleball helped me to advance rather quickly. I still have a long way to get to where I want but that's the beauty of the sport. With some time, effort and proper instruction, you can go pretty far in pickleball. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Having been involved in sports my entire life as both a player and a coach, I have a firm understanding on what it takes to improve based on practice and execution of skills necessary to succeed in a sport. I have applied this same focus and mentality to education having worked for close to 20 years as a teacher and principal in public education. These sport and educational experiences have led me to where I am today as a pickleball coach. Given the opportunity, I am confident I can meet you where you're at, connect with you and help improve your game through lessons, drilling and live game situations. Let's get on the court and have some fun!

Pickleball found me. I never intended to coach pickleball while I was playing tennis in college or while coaching at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. However, the game kept pushing me closer to its grasp. I was introduced initially through a "learn new racquet sports" expo at the National Campus. Pickleball, padel, and paddle tennis were not as recognizable as tennis, but the people in charge were smart to give them a home. They converted some older courts and brought in some top pros in each respective sport.
As I continued my time in Orlando, I found myself playing pickleball between coaching hours and learning as much as I could from other players. It was a game that hooked me nearly as close as tennis of an earlier age, where giants like McEnroe and Becker were kings of the court. And while I love the tennis of today, there's nothing like striking a volley winner right down the middle of the court.
As I started coaching, I was lucky to earn certifications and to coach a different clubs across the east coast. I ran multi-level clinics in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and started a play-day for students at Penn State. These experiences, outside of the obvious coaching benefits, allowed me to see just how beneficial the sport can be. Pickleball has gotten people who never thought they would play sports into the game. My parents, who were former avid tennis players, are now back on the court with paddles in their hands. Pickleball has prolonged the health of an entire population, as it's promoted active lifestyles for individuals well into their later years.
I'm happy to be a small part of such an important sport. Let's continue this journey together. I'm available for individual or group lessons, with plenty of weekend openings. I'll be ready to meet your level of play and we'll find ways to build a plan for success. Let's get you ready for the next step today!
